One of 600 copies printed in Van Dijck in black (the title-page in red and black on Hodgkinson's handmade paper specially watermarked "Corvo to Lane". Buff laid Fabriano Roma paper boards, red and gilt on spine; title blocked in gold in a facsimile of Corvo's handwriting on a red panel on the front cover. Pink paper dust-jacket, unititled, a little faded and chipped (loss to spine. A very good copy.
Designed by Hans Schmoller; printed by Rowley Atterbury at the Westerham Press. Both considered this amongs their finest productions. The book is accompanied by a folded card, on p.1 of which is an apology from Allen Lane for sending another book so soon. This is printed in red.
