Woodcut frontispiece, engraved title-page by G.G. Manton, profusely illustrated within the text with decorative initials, vignettes from old books, full-page plates, inserted folding plates and facsimiles. Olive-green grained cloth, elaborately blocked and titled in gold on the front, patterns repeated in blind on the rear, gold top.  Corners a little bumped. A near fine copy.
