One of 1,000 copies printed in the Fell types on all rag paper by Vivian Ridler. Coloured portrait frontispiece, illustrations in the text and 22 plates. Full blue buckram with gilt spine titling, upper board blocked in gilt. Very slight wear to dust-jacket. A near fine copy with prospectus and order form loosely inserted.

The last book to be set entirely by hand at Oxford, this was the culmination of Morison's forty years research into the Fell types, published the day after his death. (Appleton 227)
