The Reform Ministry, and the Reformed Parliament. Done into verse by Nahum Whistlecraft [John Hookham Frere], Parliamentary Poet Laureat. "Tenth edition"; 8vo, pp.[iv],78, James Fraser, London, 1835.

Disbound pamphlet. A very good copy.

Nahum Whistlecraft was a pseudonym established by the Tory, John Hookham Frere, a most gifted amateur of
letters and contributor to the `Anti-Jacobin'. Byron was fascinated by Frere, and quickly dashed off ‘Beppo’
(1818) ‘in or after the manner of Mr Whistlecraft’. The piece is a satire on Le Marchant's `Reform Ministry
and the Reformed Parliament'. No earlier than this "Tenth edition" is listed either in BLC or NUC.
And is there, one wonders, a connection here with Bridgerton’s “Lady Whistledown”?
