336pp with 451 woodcuts; 326pp with 464 woodcuts, some full-page and double-page, some hand-coloured. Original full canvas with decorative printed labels and linocut endpapers. A few slight spots to spine, otherwise very good to fine.

Number 421 of 490 copies. The book demonstrates the woodblocks used and created in Girona from the seventeenth to the nineteenth centuries, mostly of Roman Catholic nature. The illustrations comprise initials, symbols, borders, vignettes, portraits, coats-of-arms, fleurons. The woodcuts were used by the Girona printers Carreras and this study is a survey of the art of woodcut illustration in Catalonia.
