Royal Album of Arts and Industries of Great Britain. Super royal 4to, [4] 560p, leaves of plates, illustrations, portraits (some coloured), 32cm, London: Wyman & Sons, 1887.
Frontispiece portrait of Queen Victoria chromolithographed by Taylor Bros., Leed. Many head- and tailpieces. Title-page printed in red and black within ornamental border. Hugely illustrated - all Victorian commercial life is here. Massive red morcco very elaborately decorated and titled in gilt, all edges gilt with gilt batik endpapers. A few scuffs. A very good copy.
Published on the occasion of the Queen's Jubilee. An extraordinary tour-de-force in which the typefounder H.W. Caslon sits alongside the Universal Provider William Whiteley and the Patent Borax Company, Birmingham - and much else besides!
