A Song about Tsar Ivan Vasilyevitch his young bod-guard and the valiant merchant Kalashnikov. By Mikhail Yur'evich Lermontov. With decorations by Paul Nash. Imperial 8vo, pp.[iv], 32, The Aquila Press, Kensington, 1929.

Number 30 of 750 copies printed in black and Venetian red in black-letter on grey Maillol handmade paper. Illustrated with four abstract woodcuts by Paul Nash, printed in the same colours, with a matching binding designed by Paul Nash of full natural Niger morocco with cream and black inlays and blind tooling. Some slight discolouration to endpapers (as often), lower front board a bit soiled, but generally very little of the wear usually associated with this binding. A very good copy.
