The House, the Garden, and the Steeple: a collection of poems, by Arthur Lee Humphreys. 16mo, 17cm, [6],88p, London: Arthur L. Humphreys, 1906.
Printed throughout in capitals on fine antique wove (hand-made?) paper with the title-page in red and black; Red cloth, very elaborately blocked in gilt, spine titled in gilt, gold top, other edges uncut. Endpapers slightly browned. A very good copy indeed of a scarce book.
A collection of mottoes taken from old houses, from sundials, and from bells. The printing is reminiscent of Charles Ricketts.
