Set in 'Vale' type and printed on specially watermarked handmade paper. One of 210 (220?) copies. Woodcut floral border and 39 initials by Charles Ricketts. White buckram, spine gilt-stamped with title. Spine a little yellowed. A very good copy.

With a note on headed paper from Charles Home McCall, printer at the Ballantyne Press, presenting this copy to his daughter:‘Janey, so gratefully from Daddy & Mummy, with affection as deep as respect. Two [the other unknown] of my Vale Press Books*, April 1955  *Which in my early years - the "nineties" - I helped Chas Ricketts, Chas Holmes and Chas McCall my father to “make”’. An excellent association copy of this Vale Press book.
