Handset in Caslon Old Face and printed on hand-made paper in editions of 120 copies. Decorated with type ornaments and a few reproductions of woodcuts. Sewn into buff or blue printed paper wrappers with overlaps. In fine condition.
George Ratcliffe Woodward (sometime Scholar of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge), did not turn to printing until he was in his seventies, after a lifetime's work in the church. His texts, of which 33 are known, were a curious mixture of Christian and pagan verse, and all either by, or 'englished by' him.
